i know a bit about the lough in cork.It's situated in the middle of Cork city,it's not the easiest of waters + the problems you face at the lake such as the bird population(being a bird sanctuary) and local residents can be anti-anglers!
carp wise-has probably 20 20's up to the Irish record of 29lbs 13ozs.The average weight is about 17lbs.
The main feature is the island at the south end,but there is also gravel beds and silt pockets.
