316lb of chub taken on waggler and maggot win Wye Championship. 102lb of chub takes runner up.

Bet he felt his arms thefollowing couple of days.

must have been bloody big fish, even at an average of 4lba fish thats ...wait , just take me shoes n socks off too ...errrrr bout 80 fish ...5 hr match i take it ?

errrrrr, thats bout a fish every 4 mins ...flippin heck , they must have been reeeeealy queuin up .......................

i'd liked to have watched that ...i would deffo had to give up after bout 40 fish due to knackeredness ...lol.

Hello Dave,

I've not seen a full report on the Wye Champs catch apart from what has appeared in the Angling Times and Anglers Mail. That 's probably as full a reportas you will find.

Apparently Lee Edwards had a 'quiet' last hour during the match due to other anglers appearing on the skyline and spooking the shoal otherwise he would probably have topped 400lb. The previous Wye record was 178lbs.

Only one keepnet was used according to anglers present at the weigh in. Not ideal!
