I have been contacted re. a new venture in County Cork in South West Ireland. At a time when Irish pike are suffering at the hands of some fishery boards, it's good to see something positive from Ireland.
Details and contacts below:
“Ireland’s South-West corner has a newly opened and exciting winter Pike fishery aimed at small groups seeking exclusive access for quality angling and genuine Irish “Craic” at night. Shreelane Lake (see photo) is both beautiful and peaceful sheltered water with two lake boats plus engines just 3 miles from Skibbereen town. This is a summer put and take trout fishery thus ensuring some very well fed large pike in their fighting prime.
The secret of just how good this lake was revealed when UK angler Tim Rules turned heads with a 23lbPike on fly in April 2007 ( see photo) while on its first open day in October 2007 a 25lb pike was caught from a belly tube on fly. We think that there are few nicer places to surpass the Shreelane experience for winter Pike fishing. Skibbereen has all the attributes for social fun with traditional pubs, restaurants and places of interest.
Nearest airport is Cork city (1 hour) or ferry port Rosslare/Dunlaoire both approx 4 hours. Good fares should be available off peak for the bargain seekers while local accommodation likewise will vary from £20 for B&B to £45 for hotel outside Christmas holidays. Boat hire is £25 inc engine . Boats take max 3 anglers.
Booking assistance and advice on accommodation, tackle hire available through following contacts -- swrfb@swrfb.ie, swrfb@swrfb.com, lesliespayne@eircom.net or johnftwomey@gmail.com . telephone contact

Looks OK to me!
