I have a copy of "Spirit of the Pond" by Tom o'Rielly its a cracking book. Set in and around one of the ponds belonging to our club. Tom set up the publishing co himself and specialises in printing limited edition books..
Is the term "limited edition books" a bit of a snob thing? surely a signed original of a true classic is what the term "limited edition" should really apply to?
Limited edition books are usually one of two things:
The expensive leather bound type that, due tothe cost, are unlikely to sell many but will appeal to collectors. Or....
Deliberate ploy by the publisher to limit the number because the book is unlikely to sell many anyway, and the 'limited edition' status enhances the value and makes punters think they're getting something special.
