Out fishing today, the perch all had a small black patch on the end of the dorsal fin.
All the roach had a brown patch, triangular in shape on the top of the head running from above the eyes back to where the gills start.
I thought the roach were very odd.
Genetic throw backs to this particular water? A particular strain?
