Mark,

Shakespeare did not develop the boxes, that was Galaxy who made the boxes for Shakespeare as the Riva & Nova (the latter Shakespeare called the Beta).

I also have some vials of no.16 & 14 split shot (made by Olympic).

Other than that, good article.

It makes it easier to call them 'Shakespeare' boxes as the tackle shop will know what you are talking about. I've yet to find a need for 14 & 16 shot sizes?

The mould for the Galaxy box was made by FN Doig Engineering of High Wycombe, the toolmaker was a certainAlistair Nash, who was my brother in law

How nerdy is that!

Nice article Mark and I'm sure an observant beginner would notice the white paint added to various bits of kit. Most of my catapults have been found, do the manufacturer deliberately make them back so we loose them and have to buy more?

I've also added white paint & white tape to help me locate things as I pack up in fading light.
