This might sound daft but how do I remove the spool from my centrepin for oiling. It is a youngs purist11.

I have tried unsrewing the large centre nut but the spool will not release. Bit pricey so don't want to break it if you know what I mean.

Thanks

There are little pointy springs in the centre you push these inwards mate and it frees the spool!

if its a purist rob it dont need oiling mate the bearings are sealed i have one myself and i just clean the dirt out and put it back together. as long as the main body is clean it should be fine. sometimes i give mine a wipe with wd40 but only now and then.

dont use WD40 as it has detergents in it which over time will do damage to your pin, better to go to a shop that sells sewing machines and get a bottle of clear sewing machine oil
