The waste of fish will continue while money can be made however sickening it may be.

I’ve never understood the quota system that is only based on the targeted species. Surely this should also take into account the total fish stock landed. You therefore deduct from the targeted species the rest of the fish stock netted. Not sure how you would police this and if so at what cost, but doing nothing is not an option. Like the guy in the article said the fish stocks belong to the nation not the fishermen, we as a nation grant them a license to catch and pay them for distributing their catch to the people of that nation.
