well i've got a sundridge arctic edge, suit and it's brilliant. you could wait for andy nellist to say what his smelly suit is because that's also sundridge and very good.

Hi Pete,

check out WMAC there doing 2 piece suits with free boots for £39 or so; Mullarkey's have a similar deal on at £49. None of the above are in pink or camo.

Peter, I'm not going to suggest any make, but make sure it has a good head of waterproofing, 10,000mm is pretty good. Also that it is a breathable fabric.

This doesn't mean that you won't sweat in it or even get damp inside from your sweat, but it will wick it out more efficiently than with a normal PVC coated material, which traps it all inside.

Gore-Tex is a classic breathable material, but very, very costly unless like Bully, you buy ex-army.

Bully is talking sense, go for army surplus goretex, 1/3rd of the cost of the branded stuff, 95% of the features.

Ask yourself- who would you trust to keep you warm and dry - the people who make gear for the army or people who specialise in fishing rods and reels?

Make sure you've got a good hat and gloves as well, thinsulate stuff is lightweight and reasonably cheap.

This would depend on which army you were referring to. our army equipment is crap, that's why all our squaddies buy their own kit.

cold weather gear go for norwegian army ours do.

Captain , is the Artic Edge a one piece suit ? I brought a couple of Sundridge suits about 8 years ago which were the db`s but the second one has nearly had it , I allso bought a bib & brace ( sundridge ) last year which is crap, I am now looking for a hard wearing one piece mainly for the winter that can take the weather and the knocks .
