Ok needed a carping holiday somewhere a bit differant. So after numerous Ciders and many dead end,s I av decided to have a crack a Bin El Ouidane.Im booked up and gonna go next year for two weeks to have a look and attempt to catch a Carp or 3.

I have gleaned as much scraps of info from the mag,s,spoken to the people running the trip so I have a tenuious idea of what,s going on.Obviosly untill me and my mate get there and see the lake/swim,s for ourselves then all info/tactic,s are hypertheticl but then again no knowledge is a waste.

So if anyone has been there and can shed any light on the subject then all info would be gratefully recieved.

cheers

this is what is available close to where i live in thailand.

sold for loads of money by AA etc

yours for 50 pounds for a weeks fishing plus hotel and other entertainments.

so all in you can get hotel and fishing for 100 squid. all gear can be hired at the lake and the locals help a lot. no licences etc needed.

a bird will cost you 20 squid for the whole night. food for 1-2 pounds a day if you eat local.

the problem is that it costs around 500 to get here

By the way Roto, what exactly are you doing in Thailand??/forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif

Frothy,is the winter campaign getting so slow that youve resorted to getting a Thai bird for the long cold night's??Definately some possibilities in bivvy escorts.

If you say so roto/forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif

I know what you mean about the cold......Ive only been back in the UK since June, before that I was livin in Perth WA for a year and the only reason I came back was cos I was missing me UK fishing!!!Now as I look out the window at the frost and face a day on a building site I wish I was back in the sun.

Is it easy to get work in Thailand??..Im getting itchy feet again and fancy a bit of sun etc.

cheers

yes it is easy if you want to teach english.

most jobs are restricted to thais and for less than 100 squid a month u dont want them. theaching can get you around 500 a month up. for that you can live like a king.

the visa you want before you come here is a year long tourist visa. you have to go to the border every three months

is better if you have a degree but not really neccessesary.

if you can take a celta before you get here but only a celta not a cheaper alternative.

costs around a grand but worth it.

u can take something here for about 200 quid but a celta will open many more doors and get you more money

pm me if you need further info about thailand.

The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults, or CELTA is a professional credential held by many teachers of English as a foreign language.

The CELTA is a common requirement for those entering the field of English language teaching. Because it is recognized internationally, it is a particularly popular credential among people who wish to travel and teach English around the world (see TEFL for an extended discussion of travel-teaching). However, it is also held by people who intend to teach only in the country where they trained, and do not intend to travel.

The full-time CELTA course runs for four weeks; it can also be taken part-time over several months. CELTA courses are run by many different institutions, while the courses are validated and certificates are issued by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).

Steveo,

My mate Jim (known as Lunghi Jim on FM) has just come back from there. You can email him via his profile (have a look on the Lower Severn Fish-In thread in the events section)

Hope that helps
