I was driving down Camp Farm Rd in Aldershot - a road that runs parallel to the Basingstoke Canal, on Sunday. A group of people were fishing oposite the two sunked barges with poles.
Imagine my surprise when one of them shipped his pole straight back, across the towpath and halfway across the road. I had to take evasive action to avoid hitting his pole. No doubt it would've damaged my car, but it would've cost him a new pole.
Whoever you are, and if you're reading this, you know who you are, don't be so bl**dy stupid in future. Try shipping your pole paralell to the canal,i.e. along the towpath. You can do it, becuase that's what I do.
