Don't underestimate this one! I know from correspondence with a friend how invasive this plant has been on the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation. Watch out for it - it could ruin your fishing!

Can't see us ever getting rid of it, though, any more than we did sargassum and all the other alien invaders. It's probably high time we simply banned the importation of any foreign plant or animal, like the Aussies. Theye even spray the planes with insecticide when they land, just to make sure.

get boat with scoop on front, drive up and down broads, transfer harvested floating penny wort onto dry land and reduce to compost.

return to fertilise fields.

it's a no brainer, with the added benefit that it will be taking some of the masses of nutrientsa that we pollute them with back out of the system.

I would have thought it'd be better if they( the Aussies)sprayed the planes before they left Australia ............

The Aussies have got camels, buffalo, cane toads, rabbits, house mice, cats, wild boar and a few other non-indigenous species to cope with. Ironically enough, so have the abos...
