Need advice on a simple but effective rig

im looking to just set 1 carp rod up on a bite alarm while i fish with the pole / waggler but i dont no what rig too choose.anyone got any advice?

For a more indepth answer we would have to know what the lake bed was like, weed, silt, distance etc. And a whole host of other things.
