just got home from a walk round a local water where i found the body of a dead pike of about 16lb. it was badly decomposed and this allowed me to have a really good look at the make up of the pikes jaw. i noticed that down one side of its jaw there were a number of the big teeth missing. but on further inspection i could see the tips of more teeth so what i was wondering is was it possible that the lost teeth were replaced with new ones? i allways thought that once they were lost that was it they didnt replace with new ones.
whats your thoughts?
by the way there were no signs of hooks or trace left in the pike so this also baffled me as to what killed the fish
