Bloody scared me, I was sat on the sofa and thought a big truck was driving past at first, then though 'sh*t its an earthquake' as it got worse, then wondered how long it was going to go on for, then it stopped.

First one I think I've ever been aware of and I did not like it one bit.

Same here Paul, it woke me up, I thought one of the kids was stuck in the bathroom rattling the door to get out,I've jumped up, put the lights on andeverydoor andwall in the houseseemed to beshaking.A few minutes later am checking the house thinking the heating had blown up or that someone's tried to kick my front door in.

2 words: I sh*t myself.

I felt the last big one in 2002 and have felt them in Greece a few times

I feel like a veteran now...The wife bricked it a bit...I was cool and simply said "its okay its just an earthquake"

So cool...so cool

We used to get tremors like that every other week in Joburg due to goldmining subsidence. For a short time I thought I was living back in the old country.

Felt one before when we lived near Milton Keynes, that one, my first thought was a train crash on the main London line.

Last night, after I'd pushed the wife off me, I thought it was a big truck on the road.

Then it sunk in, that it was probably a tremor.

Did you know that Britain is on the same geological plate as Japan?

True!
