First ever attempt at painting, water colours.. and my favourite fish ever.

Thanks haha, or a butchered perch, wounds an all... i'll correct it tomorrow :| its only my favourite fish. and i got the colours wrong lol oh dear

Try to avoid delineating - particularly stripes; better to add un-bordered layers of pale colour to produce the desired, final hue. A dark wash of black or deep blue down the length of the fish's back will impart bulk and dimension. Don't give up on a piece of work...work on it until it comes right. You have a good image there to improve upon I think.

A good first attempt, give it a couple of years and you'll be doing the rod license image.

Ahh Thanks Cliff for the advice, i'll keep that in mind, just about understood what you ment though :D but i get it...

and Cheers weasel! i will keep at it. really enjoyed doing it actually, didnt think it would interest me but i'm suprised.

the more advice the better!
