£10 seems very little to pay for some piece of mind....ok it won`t stop the thieving gits stealing in the first placebut it goes some way to recovering your precious custom rods etc... and perhaps securing a conviction.

Surely it must also help in getting a reduction in insurance???

Good idea, but isn't stating that


"The favourite site for a microchip to be fitted to a new, in production, rod is under the reel-seat"

kind of ill-advisedly giving the game away to any thief who might want to remove 'em.... ?

Maybe,assuming the thief knows there is a microchip fitted.

Also, the thief probably won't care as it's the daft sod who buys the rod that will cop for it.

And if it means rebuilding the butt after he's removed the chip (presumably the chips won't be easy to remove) then that alone is a deterrent.
