Serious 12mm boilie question!

Roughly how many 12mm boilies are thereto a pound (lb) or a kilo in weight (or half kilo/500g)?

I know density etc varies from one mix to another, and I am not taking the pi55, but if anyone with a 12mm batch of baits could do a quickcount I'd be really grateful.

Even counting how many there are in 2oz and multiplying by 8, or in 100g and multiplying by 10 would really help me out!

12mm isn't a popular size, I don't think. They tend to go from 10mm to 14 mm.

There's 573½ 14mm boilies in a kilo. I would round it up like I did, 574.

Now I've done you a favour, have you got any dirty pictures of big hairy birds?

573 CheersJethro, seriously mate, did you count the whole lot out or just 100g's worth?

If that's the case I am looking at what , say 700+ 12mm's?

I weighed what I had in a small pot. That was 90g.

Divided by .09 give you what there is in a kilo. Simple.

OOOPS!

Told you the wrong amount Eddie. It's 577. there's 52 in 90grams

Memory failing me but only 3 or 4 out in total. I think almost 700 is about right for 12mm

Mr C,

based on Jeffs 52x 14mm boilies in 90gram, one 14mm boilie weighs 1.73gram

(this seems a bit light to me ?, but i dont use them so dont know)

(edit: probably about right, as if it were just water it would be 1.44gram)

A 14mm boilie has a volume of 1436mm3, giving a density of 0.00121 g/mm3

A 12mm boilie has a volume of 905mm3, so using the same density it will weigh 1.1gram

so you will get 909 per kilo

( I'm effingbored at work )

Don't forget some baits are heavier than others, it all depends on the mix, number of eggs etc
