Well Neil, best rig in weedy water is one without a hook that way it doesnt get caught on the weed. usually called a hookless rig.

Carp at this time of year mostly feed at level four ,on warmer days level two.

Hope this help's.

Shouldn't get too mush weed this time of year.
In the books, carp feed in deeper water in winter, if they feed at all. But carp don't read books.

With a hookless rig Neil you dont get caught on snags, or the weed, if you do put a hook on tie it back to front so it comes back hook bend first.

Neil, if you fly over a forestin an helicopter and look down all yoyu will see is a mass of trees, if however you are on the ground under that mass of trees you will see lots of paths and passages, weedy waters are similar to this, put your rig, hook, boilies and lead all in a PVA bag and cast the lot out, the carp will find it mate/forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif
