Hows Chesil fishing?

has anyone fished Chesil yet this year?

Thinking of driving down for a night sesh in a couple of weeks. Any info appreciated.

David, haven't fished Chesil for a while now but it has to be the best beach in the UK for fishing (IMHO)

Depends on where you intend fishing... Portland end or Abbotsbury,Cogden???

Mightbe some mackerel starting to show about now with the chance of a plaice if you can chuck a bait far enough. If you fishing at night and the surf isn't too lively, try a big bait (half mackerel, whole squid) in the 'gutter'. Had a double-figure bass with this method once /forum/smilies/big_smile_smiley.gif

What does in the 'gutter' mean and do you need to chuck out far with the bigger baits for Bass. Would love to catch one, i've not yet managed to succeed.
