Newbie to the forum so thought I should introduce myself.

Been a lifelong fisherman and recently enjoyed exploring more diversified coarse fishing and species, on a bit of a quest to catch twenty two separate freshwater species before the end of the calendar year and up to seventeen so far and highly likely I will be calling for help!

Favourite venue is the Trent and my own naturalised club water in Mansfield.

Cheers guys, tight lines.

welcome binka...interesting challenge...what are you short off?

Thanks everyone, looking forward to taking part.

Well... not sure how honest i'm being with myself as i've split down Carp into separate species and fluked a couple of others, i've got a week off next week when I hope to get a Grayling and Brown Trout (Derwent, Matlock Bath), Eel, Dace (Trent) Crucian but thinking it's too late (Loscoe Dam) and minnow (local dam).

Caught to date this year are:

Barbel
Bleak
Bream
Carp - Common
Carp - Leather
Carp - Mirror
Carp - Prussian (Brown Goldfish?)
Chub
Goldfish (!)
Gudgeon
Perch
Pike
Roach
Rudd
Ruffe
Tench
Zander

I'm writing off Catfish as being too difficult within local area but should be fun going for the others next week.

I don't know the waters up your way binka but not too late for crucians, depending on water temperature, I've taken them in January and February so long as the water has been above 10C.
