Out for a day’s fishing on the Hampshire Avon with my son Jared (age 17). Jared is looking for that illusive 20lber and makes contact with a 17lb Avon Pike. The monster pike was taken whilst fishing a dead bait in a large back eddy near Ashley Bends. Jared removes the single circle hook and after weighing his new PB safely returns the fish to the pool.

This idiot has been advised on other pike forums that his handling of pike is very poor to say the least. Also naming of a clubs waters which is frowned upon also against this clubs rules and regulations. He has been advised to seek help on handling by many forum users but seems to take pleasure by ignoring advise given to him.

This guy is a pest to say the least he is a pot hunter with very little skill and even less sense in my opinion he should stop filming and learn to fish properly first then teach his family to fish before using a camera ever again either that or do angling a favour and leave it alone totally .

The unhooking and handling of this fish was questionable at best. The kid was clearly not comfortable handling pike.

Hopefully someone will imform the club as its a obviously easy to recognise bit of water and they could have his ticket offski pronto ,Deadbaiting for Pike in the summer when you are obviously scared to death of them roll eyes icon fatality waiting to happen....
He seems to respond on other forums to any positive comments and ignore all advice and in one case offer of a day out for pike handling advice , Methinks he must get off on the attention

Or the pursuit of it attention that is. He is certainly concerned with size but not the accuracy that goes with it. He seems to be trying to make a name for himself and his family it is a shame it is not the right kind of name.

Funnily enough, weighed and photographed by a well respected P.A.C. angler and friend.

The moderation team have decided to remove this contributor's videos from the site.

We sought the advice of several expert Pike anglers who all agreed that; the unhooking, over-excessive playing and lack of handling skills shown on the clips are not good advertisments for young or aspiring predator anglers or this site in general.
