Bait dropper

Reading recent articles re fishing using a bait-dropper i feel tempted to give it a try as one of my favourite venues is deepish. I was wondering if fixing a fairly heavy item to a line of say 010 or similar and even on a fine-tipped pole would present any problems and indeed how to fix it to the line.

May be best to use another top section rigged with stronger line and tie it to the loop on top.
