Thats because the prize money is subsidised by Tourism Ireland and Irish Ferries --an Irish angler wouldn't be travelling on the Ferry or using any accommodation
An English angler would have to pay out for ferry,accomodation and entry fees--a lot more than the £150 an Irish angler would pay
