You know you've still got a few sessions in you when you've had one of those days and you've got the next trip planned before you even get home.
Nice cold start on the Trent this morning, -3 just before it got light and river looking well after fining down and banks looking nice and clean after their wash.
Not a knock for three or four hours so out went a suspended roach into a slack and bob... slide... knock... short run and everything else but shoot off!
Tried hitting 'em and tried smaller hook rigs but still made no difference.
Manged a nice jack around eight pounds on ledgered lamprey section but would they do anything other than just mouth the bait on the suspended rig?
And the cream on the top was chucking the roach in as I packed and yep... swirl, gone!
