up for grabs now is a fly rod and reel and not being a fluff chucker I dont know any thing about it

its been donated by my mate Roger ......a big nob in the Red Spinners so it must be quite good

the rod has on it ................R.Chapmans and Co.Ware,Herts and nothing else

looking at it it looks quite old

the reel has on it.....RimFly cartridge 375 ,made in England

It's the weight of the line Mr Cakey and in essence how far you will be able to cast it and what weight of fly you'll be able to cast with it.

Heavier line will cast further and take heavier flies but needs a stiffer rod hence the line rating on rods, similar to test curve I suppose.
