Over the last few days I have tried in vain to get the name of a tackle shop somewhere close to my home(via the Fox website sales office)where I can see at least some of the Luggage range plus rod bags etc and all the other ancilliary item they market.

Having told them my local tackle shops do not stock Fox gear(or at least some of the larger items)the only answer I can get is"you will have to phone round as I am not aware of what shops stock our products"-and this from the Sales Office!!

Do they want to sell product or what??

Oh,they did say they could sell me a pair of Buzz Bars for £7.50 but postage would be £6.50-yea right!

I have the 2007 Carp catalogue with lots of good stuff in it but whats the point if I cannot SEE the products BEFORE I buy??

CAN ANYONE SUGGEST WHAT TO DO(apart from choosing another range)

I think he wants to see it in the flesh Wol...

My suggestion would be to... choose another range!

Anyone being so unhelpful probably isn't as committed to selling their products as they should be... Anyone who fobs me off with half-baked answers to such enquiries sees me routinely boycott their products as a matter of course.

Take a trip to China./forum/smilies/disappointed_smiley.gif

Seriously, if they are unable to supply a list of stockists local(ish) to you they aint trying very hard or you live in the Sahara.

If it HAS to be Fox then ask your chosen tackle dealer, I go with Gregs' suggestion; find another manufacturer, the Fox gear I've bought (which is very little to be straight) was crap and bust quickly.

If you want to buy a rod use a firm that offers the lifetime guarantee, they all come from the same place anyhow.

A triumph of marketing over substance IMO.

Warren -I had already looked at the Fox website searching for a outlet and I have just looked again to make sure-in Buckinghamshire, which is a sizeable county, they haveONE stockist-in Milton Keynes, which is over a hour from me-too expensive for a pensioner Im afraid...

In Berks,(Reading/Maidenhead area)they have FOUR stockists so I will phone around just to see what they have for me to look at.......

NO,I dont HAVE to buy Fox but the catalogues are so good with just about everything covered, and very descriptive that it seemed a good place to start.

Perhaps thats the problem-the outlets just cannot afford to hold stocks and Fox dont want to use the 'sale or return'methodfor fear of piles of old gear ending up back with them! Its understandable in some ways.

But then how do they expect to sell product?-it beats me..............and why print such catalogues if we cannot see the contents anywhere?

Anyone have the best online outlet available?

Try England angling, erics angling, veals of bristol, tonys' tackle, devon angling centre, poingdestres, all on't net . There's dozens, it's not too hard to find what you want.

Don't know where you are in Bucks but Aylesbury used to have 3 tackle shops, the only one I can remember the name of was/is Jakemans Tackle in the underground market.

If you're near Bicester,(I know,different county) try J&K tackle.

Type tackle dealers in google and see what happens.

Walton Tackle Exchange are predominantly Pox sorry Fox orientated :01932242377 they might order or supply from stock and post.

I'd be lost without my Specialist Multi Tips for big roach.

Fox do produce some good niche products that other manufacturers don't consider cost effective.
