A couple of years ago we (my good wife and me) stayed at the Downhill Hostelwhilst holidaying in Ireland

I wasa bit apprehensive whenI booked (having stayed at Youth Hostelsmany years ago) but this is hotel standard.

There is single/double/twin and familyroom accommodation plus small dormitories. It's set just below the rock cliffs and, but for a single rail track,(main line to Londonderry apparently) it would be on the beech. I say 'main line', for the 5 days we stayed there I noticed just one train.

A fantastic place for anyone looking for a low cost break, plus great bass fishing virtually on the doorstep.

The owners William Gilfillan and his lovely wife Mcall couldn't have been more helpful.
