No wont do them any harm at all ESP do a very fine drill and baiting needle to match, keep them in a dry place with ventilation, they will rehydrate when you use them

Hi Paul, I wouldn't be too concerned breaking the skin by pre-drilling, if you think they would dry out too much you can always store them in SAC juice for 20 years! :D

I make my own boilie-shaped baits for personal use and stick tooth picks into them and rack. :w

Be very careful when using a bait drill or needle think what you are doing and if there is a danger of drilling or stabbing yourself with the tool it never ceases to amaze me the number of people who do this.

Yep, its well known in A&E departments up and down the country, in fact they have specialists on standby specificity to deal with this problem. Some hospitals in the south east where carp fishing is especially popular even open special wards to cope with the influx of perforated anglers who appear with the first sunny days of spring.

I was thinking of pre drilling a few boilies at home just to have them ready on the bank for a quick set up and also I was thinking that the drilled hole would help flavors absorb better when soaking in flavoring

A few years ago I bought one of those spring loaded boilie drills. It works like a Yankee screwdriver using a pumping action rather than turning it as with normal drills. It works a treat, very quick and never splits the boilie.
