My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Its a sad day withthe loss of anothergreat angling legend.

I like many thousands of others was bought up on his books, articles and exploits and he will be sorely missed. RIP Fred.

Another chapter of angling history closes. Makes you wonder if there is a Heaven A.C., but if there is it will have a lot of damned good anglers up there by now.

His contributions will, like the man, be sorely and sadly missed.

Very sad that one of our best loved anglers has passed away.
