info on barbel in river arrow warks please

You definitely get the prize for most 'angry' and abbreviated first post! Lol!

Yes, there are barbel in the Arrow,

Most stretches are club controlled,

Day tickets at Wixford from Fish Inn and the lovely old chap who controls the very short (70 yards?) stretch downtream of bridge.

A double would be 'fish of a lifetime' and possibly a river record...

Hope that helps... and cheer up!! It's only barbel fishing! :)

****y, sounds a bit like the odd one you meet on the bank whilst fishing..

"What you caught"

"How Big"

"Wot Bait"

"Where you casting"

" I caught a bigger one last week"

Ambles off.....................

Hope he's not Graham, I sometimes fish Wixford:eek: so if he is, I'll blame ****y :p

I used to fish Wixford quite regularly, lovely little stretch if you are lucky to find a quiet day...

Last time I went for a look was a very early Saturday morning, the weekend after the AT had mentioned it in a feature...

And I kid you not there was a solid line of bivvies 2ft apart going from the tiny weir to the end of the 50 yard bit below the bridge...

Each had two rods out!! :eek:mg:

I would call them fish-chasing muppets but that'd be an gross insult to Jim Henson's puppet creations; muppets have more brains!! :)

Oh and just for the record... I never had a barbel from that stretch...
