Yes. A fish was reported to the RWGA who published it in good faith on their website and it was subsequently reported in the WUF newsletter. It was reported taken from the diving pool swim on the Warren fishery beat, two Saturdays ago. Two guys I have spoken to were also fishing the same beat the same day and saw nothing of of the fish. And no photos or any other info has been forthcoming since. It's now being disregarded as a 'fishy tale' but I don't think it was a deliberate attempt to deceive - I think it's possible that there was a misunderstanding, that the '47' related to the length of the fish, which would make it a low to mid twenty. But watch this space - this is the same swim the previous Wye record of 37lb+ came from and from an area where bigger fish have been caught by salmon anglers over the years who never claimed the record.
