Just noticed this on the latest ATr newsletter. Many years of happy memories there under RMC/CEMEX.

Farnham Angling Society are proud to announce the purchase of 8 of the famous Yateley Complex lakes, ensuring that angling continues on arguably the most famous Carp fishing complex in the country.

Farnham Angling Society has acquired 8 lakes and a stretch of the River Blackwater. These will be split into: the Yateley South Complex: Comprising of Yateley South Lake, Pumphouse Lake, Horseshoe Lake & Tree Lake and the Yateley East Complex, containing the Summer Pit, Match Lake, Copse Lake, Nursery Lake and the River Blackwater.

The acquisitions are a big step up (and forward) for FAS, they have secured a mortgage for the first time and have acquired some superb assets. The purchase has attracted the usual moaners and groaners but the majority can only see it as a positive action. What else might have happened to those venues? Fenn Wright approached FAS directly after previous bids on other CEMEX assets had been unsuccessful.

It certainly means I will be renewing my interest in Pumphouse, Horseshoe and a couple of the others and, more importantly (and selfishly) it may help to reduce the numbers on the clubs rivers even more!
