I'm guessing this isn't a true crucian... Can anyone tell me if it is?

Had it yesterday

I'll have a look at it through a photo system.

Calum, I think you will find it is what they call a Brown Goldfish (cross between a Crucian and a Goldfish).

It is not a true crucian but could be one of the following:

brown goldfish (a goldfish without the bright colouration NOT a hybrid)

carp x goldfish hybrid

possibly carp x crucian hybrid

Worth noting that ANY hybrid is a F1 (or F2 etc) as it means F = filial = son of, 1 = generation 1 (or 2 etc.). The calling of only carp x crucians as 'F1' is misleading and incorrect.A roach x bream could equally be a F1. Telling a brown goldfish x carp from a brown goldfish is not easy; the presence of tiny barbules is the best indicator of carp being in the mix. To confuse things further koi carp are simply a variation of carp not a separte species.
