Nice write-up on the lake Dave.

I may well be down in Torrington in a couple of months (River Reads is well worth the visit alone) so maybe I'll give Beatties lake a day or two, especially with such lovely looking Commons.

With a little help from Coco, I've just been looking into the North Devon course angling scene for our impending sojourn. Riverton House Lakes allow dogs, not sure about the missus though /forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif.

i sometimes visit stafford moorfor a boost if i have a lean spell ,dont fish beatties but its worth noting you are allowed to fish the lodge lake on ticket on a saturday, this offers superb mixed fishing and on my last visit andy told me pike and catfish have been stocked ,you can do over 100lb of carp ....bream fishing !!

Only an hour from me. Might be worth a go one day. Ever ventured down as far as the rackerhayes complex by newton abbott. Considering giving it a go.
