i have just been give some preston wagglers stops
the ones that have a wire running through 4 rubbery looking 'shots' and swizzle clip

its says you have to lop your line through the wire loop and then pull the wire through

does this make them a one use item??

Yes but you can reuse the swivel and clip.... or never strip your rod down!

I reuse mine, when you have finished fishing, cut a length of line (about 8" for me) with the stop on, form a loop and it comes off easily enough.

The wired ones? I transfer them onto mono'd loops as the wired ones are difficult to open.
