Sending Tackle

How do you guys use when you have to send tackle, I know some of us use fleabay from time to time and occasionally sell some of our gear.

I have a rod to send to someone and wandered what the FM Members use.

(in case anyone wandered it is about 4.5 ft long, 5 inch wide and 3 inch height??? )

You can try Parcelforce via your local post office.I have sent a couple of rods recently and despite them not supposed to be able to able naything over a certain height, they did so.

SHould be ok through standard post that.

I think they take anything up to 1.5 metres or maybe more. Look up their site.

They cover value up to £30 as standard, any more and you pay extra.

SORRY - up to £36 now as standard - Royal Mail Parcels

Gets me that though.

Why can't they take rod tubes at 2 metres? They're only 4 or 5 inches thick and don;t exceed the 3 metres overall rule.
