Just wondered if anyone had any info on this place. Have read its rough spot, but the fish and lake look great

Great fishing big carp upto appox 30, big bream, tench, like you say not a place to fish on your own best with 2 or 3 of you

started out on CWP in the late 80's early 90's. used to go school that pretty much backed onto it as well and used to swim in it all summer waggin school!
even back then it had the rep as a dodgy place, i fished it alone for days at a time and never had any probs at all.
you do have merseybank estate backin up to it, and that wont have got any better in the last 20yrs for sure.
as for the stuff that was in the press a couple year ago, wouldnt take much notice, it did happen, but it was a personal thing between guys, not a unprovoked attack i got told when i dug for info.
