hi,first time on here.I bought a fox barbel duo 1.5 test 12 ft with only the 2.5 oz glass tip at a car boot sale today for £20.Was this a good buy and can i catch large fish on a flimsy tip.

As long as you aren't trying to fish the middle of a big angry river or using 3oz+ open ended feeders, the rod will be fine. It should have an Avon top to go alongside the quiver carrier section and it would have had at least two (possibly three) more different quiver tips. The complete rods tend to go for around the fifty pound mark on ebay.

I think its a steal for 20Ł and you can fish for just about anything with that.
