Big Eel

Last sunday, a large eel of 4 lb 3ox was caught, image will be uploaded later.

What is the record for this species in the bristol region?

8-10 (the old British record caught by Alan Dart) came from Hunstrete Lake.

Fishing a local pool on Saturday that contains carp up to 16 or17 pounds. Had a take, struck and then the fun started. This fish took me up the pool, down the far side into a small bay etc etc. Had to get other anglers to reel in as i followed what was obviously going to be a venue record.

When the fish finally surfaced it was a cracking eel around 3 pounds foul hooked mid length. Shame to foul hook it but made my day to have what is now becoming a rare catch.
