Hi All,
This is basically a repeat of a thread I posted in 2006 but I am in the same situation again needing a change of rods.
So what rods do people now recommend if I mainly fish for tench/bream and the occasional carp. I am open to Barbel rods but prefer the carp style of rod - have always used 11ft rods so would prefer to keep to that if poss.
Ideally I don't want to spend a fortune.
All help and opinions gratefully received.
Many Thanks.

I hear good things about the drennan specialist tench and bream rods, but it would be wrong of me to recommend them given I've not used one.

There's one on eBay at present....(and no, it's not mine!! I have a constant "drennan" eBay search listed that I like to refresh so I can drool over rods).

I have a pair of korum neoteric twin tips that would probably be ideal for what you need.

Not selling mine!

Chub Outkast "Smallwater" rods. 11' and 2.25tc. Very light, and just as capable of throwing out a small PVA bag/stringer when required as freelining a large(ish) lump of luncheon meat or breadflake.
Used mine for the 1st time last week and absolutely delighted with them.
Highly recommended to anybody looking for a shorter rod whilst still retaining a bit of backbone.

Another vote for the Grey's Prodigy 1.5lb/2lb tc SX Twin tip specimen rods, which have caught me many nice fish from large Roach, Tench, Chub and Barbel right up to a 27lb Carp.

I've also heard some great things from friends on the bank about the 11ft Chub Outkast "Smallwater" rods.

Thanks for all the replies. Going to take a look at the suggestions and balance against price etc.
Will let you know which way I go!
