I've been campaigning for the bees but didn't realise the far wider reaching consequences of this Fred cheers.

I wonder if the RSPB with all their money might put it to good use and continue the fight after the two year ban? their precious ****y birds are certain to go hungry otherwise...
As well as killing mayflies, midges and molluscs, the pollution could have a knock-on effect on birds such as swallows that rely on flying insects for food

As a species we are little more than a plague.

Having killed off or reduced to barely sustainable populations most of the large mammalian species in our quest to feed ourselves and our burgeoning population we are now killing off the insect life which we rely on for pollination of our crops.

I have no doubt that science will find a way round this and for humankind to carry on for at least another couple of hundred years before the inevitable population crash or even extinction but it probably won't be in a world any of us would want to live in or even recognise.

I'm glad I won't be around to see it.
