Oh good, certainly at odds with the experience I have had in trying to get a replacement tip section to my DRX 14 ultralight.

I've always been treated well by Drennan... Once ordered a pair of super specialist rods.. After having used them a few times I noticed the rings were cracked (2/3) on each rod.
Replaced no quibble.
Same with the specialist landing net... the component that can wear - was replaced free of charge and it was outside what I considered to be the warranty of 12 months.
typically Drennan is associated with quality and after care service - Don't know about replacement tips... was it an old model? Did it break through fault, defect or accident?
I snapped the tip off my favourite Daiwa trotting rod (it was rather expensive... GULP £££)... Sadly a replacement tip was out of the question - the model had been replaced with a new version - different taper. I know one of their reps really well and he did what he could... In the end had to claim on insurance - I did'nt come out too badly.

Interesting Chav Professor about the broken rod tip. I was gutted to see the top 4inches of my new Daiwa Team 13 footer slide down the line and come to rest against the float on its second outing. I am pretty sure I didnt do it but proof is another matter especially since the dealer went bust.
I simply put another top ring on the shortened section but wasnt happy with the feel of it. I was quoted about £70 for a replacement top joint if I remember correctly. The rod cost about £95.
I had an old fine solid carbon tip from a snatching pole which I slid up inside, gled and re ringed. Perfect - it feels and handles well now.

I agree, first class company and service.
Bit of a search to obtain their telephone number but when I called they sent me a FREE replacement internal collar for my specialist landing net handle within days.
