I'd put that one down as a brown goldfish if I caught it. There may be a little crucian in there somewhere but it's almost definitely not a true crucian.

Whatever its lineage its a lovely fish and a nice catch for a beginner.

Well done, now go get some more.

Is it the brown goldfish that's otherwise known as a Prussian carp?

I've had one or two over the years and pretty little fellas they are...

300 yards from the Wensum!
Prussian carp, Gibel carp, Brown Goldfish...arent those all the same thing?...sometimes its better to do the latin:

The first fish looks like a crucian crossed with a goldfish = Carassius carassius x C auratus

The last one is a brown goldfish C auratus. Might even have a touch of orange coming through.

Gibel carp i think is C.auratus gibelio
