Hi All
New to the forum and new to fresh water angling.
I have been sea fishing for many years as I have lived on the coast in Devon. Due to work or the lack of it in Devon I have had to move nearer to the capitol. I am now in the Wallingford area of Oxfordshire, on the Thames.
Its a long trip to any coastline so I am looking at taking up fresh water fishing mainly on the Thames near by, with the possibility of pike fishing.
A few questions for anyone out there?
Does anyone know of any clubs in the Reading/Wallingford area which could help a novice?
Or any locals who wouldnt mind sharing their knowledge?
Where are the decent tackle shops in the area?
I know my beach and pier rods will be staying in their bags, but will bass and spinning rods and reels be ok to use?
Any advice will be greatly received.

Many thanks

Den.

Pike gear is a 3lb test curve rod and 15lb line, much like a bass rod, so that'll work OK; just buy bits as you go along.

Take some time to trawl all the features on this site; it's an encyclopaedia of expert knowledge.

And welcome to FM, Den
