Well done that man.

Probly the pike I had the other day, size 14 hook 5lb line. Bread flake + a small rud that I was bring in. I don't really rate pike because I'm scared of em:cool:
I didn't have to unhook it the hook fell out, so all was well.
Not a great catch but i won't forget it.

A close second is my pb 18lb mirror freelined dog biscuit.

When you'd been catching like that for 11 hours, it must have been very hard to pack up and not just keep on casting!

Great catch, a big well done. I particularly like the total honesty in the weighing of that tench that was just a half ounce short of being a nine !

my biggest fish is a sturgeon at 66lb, second biggest a cat at 41lb 9, 3rd mirror at 33lb 8, to me the mirror is my pb as it took me 5 years to catch that particular fish (not in one session though lol)

23 stickfloat caught barbel for over 200lb. 30 float fished tench on a local stillwater, or maybe the mixed bag of barbel, bream and roach on the Swale (six bream over 5lb and two roach over 2lb). Each catch was made on normal day sessions, two of them on (then) accessible local day ticket waters. There's virtually no chance of repeating the latter, the other two are still possible.
I've had bigger catches and bigger fish, but, for one reason or another, I'd consider these catches better.

My most memorable catch (apart from my first tench) was in the 70's during a couple of hours evening session on the river which totaled 5lb 9oz , they were both roach.

A roach of about 1lb. My first fish following a break of about 27 years.
From the local canal.
The only fish I wish I'd ever weighed.
A real beauty.

A small Roach I caught in the early 60's.

I was about 5, my extended family were on a day out from the 'smoke', The Beult near Hunton. My uncles, Dad and older cousins fished, my mum and aunt's sat in the sun, made tea and chatted. I had been given my first rod, a 6' solid fibreglass kids rod and reel, so, bored with playing in the fields, with my mum and one of my aunt's, I had a go at serious fishing, off the bridge. Eventually the float sailed off and I winched in a little Roach. One of my uncles unhooked it and I slipped it back. Never forget it but the biggest catch of the day was me, hook, line and sinker. I've been an angler ever since.:)
