A cranky, French-American lady loner photographer only recently discovered. Pure genius. So sad that her genius was only appreciated after her death and that dealer-heavies with guns got her many thousands of unprinted negs in a sale of her effects as she lay dying in a Chicago hospital. Such images.

Excellent program, some brilliant photos. There's a lot to be said for looking down into your camera at waist level.

Yes, he is one of the greats of photography. I much prefer the reportage type work of Cartier-Bresson, Dorothy Lang, Herbert Sutcliffe and Bert Hardy than the scenic and landscape type shots although Ansel Adams is my photographic hero.
