I find that soft hookers are fine when you are not being plagued by small stuff. Hard pellets are OK used with a band or hair rigged band to overcome the cast on a waggler. I dont fish commercials so my experience is on lighter stocked lakes. Hard pellets are of course the only viable pellet option on waters with flow ie. barbel rivers.

Expanders all the time ,when fishing on the deck-for carp,F1,skimmers,tench etc.Hard pellets for banding ,when fishing up in the water or on the deck when getting ragged by bits.....either on the method,whichever works on the day....thats about it generally Phil,Gaz
