When securing a loop in a flourocarbon stiff link, what are the advantages or disadvantages in using crimps or the polamar knot?

i'd only ever crimp with thick line like the ESP stiff stuff.

The knot is too bulky with the thicker fluoro, much better to crimp.

Could you explain a little more please Graham for the un educated like myself. A piccy or diagram may help. Are you referring to the sort of metal crimp I might use on Pike traces?

I'm not 100% sure what is ment here.

( I don't mind showing my ignorance, if you don't ask you don't find out )

It is a double barrelled crimp Richard.

The same kind of thing with Pike traces. like the others have said, thick flourocarbon is untidy to tie a knot with. I have been crimping it myself, but I wondered if there were any problems with crimps cutting or weakening the line. It's much neater and you can get the exact finished length that you want.
