40ft drain

im planning a zander session on the40ft drain this weekend and also intend to fish for tench and bream while im there during the day.Has anyone any advice on tactics ? i was going to use a locslide float with some ground bait moggot caster etc.

Way too hot for it IMO mate. You'd have every chance of losing a fish if capturing one

There's a daft misconception that Zander are somehow a more appropriate species in the warmer months than pike in the typically shallow Fenland venues. It is just the opposite in my personal experience. Zander are even more susceptible to oxygen deprivation and far more likely to suffer from capture in extremely hot weather even than pike.

Just a personal opinion of course. Good luck with whatever fishing you get up to at the weekend. :)

i mean the ramsey 40ft drain , im not local to them so apologies if there is more than one
